Michelle Bautista-Layton

Michelle is a licensed captain with the United States Coast Guard up to 25 Tonnage with a Sailing Auxiliary endorsement. She holds a Master’s of Science degree in Nanoengineering as well as a Micro-MBA and is founder of Hydrophilic Nanoengineer, an engineering consulting company. Although she grew up living part-time on a sailboat, her most active sailing has been during the last 10 years. She has lived aboard SV Michelle since 2021.

Dylan Stephenson

Dylan is a seasoned lifeguard, international surf guide, boat operator and a Public Safety Diver. He is certified with the United States Coast Guard for Search and Rescue. Boat operations have included locations in Micronesia, Baja California and the Channel Islands. His duties as first mate have included actively outfitting SV Michelle via mechanical, electrical, plumbing and troubleshooting duties.
