Meet Michelle
Hello & Welcome to HydroPhilic NanoEngineer!
To break it down for clarity:
Hydro = water 💧
Philic = loving ❤️
Nano = atomic 🧬
Engineer = designer ⚒️
It’s a term I’ve associated with after coining sometime during my academic career. It’s a lifestyle, in harmony with nature, that inspires development, design, and solutions.
It was natural to form a diverse foundation that has provided an interconnecting perspective when troubleshooting a problem. To be straightforward, I have a Master’s in Nanoengineering for Regenerative Medicine, Micro Master’s in Business and Administration, a Captain’s License for 25 ton vessels with an endorsement in Auxiliary Sail, and I occasionally compete in professional longboard competitions. I’ve 3D bioprinted in a lab with live stem cells, started an engineering consulting business, shaped and surf my own surfboard, instructed teams in engineering leadership, analyzed multifamily investment opportunities, and worked alongside interdisciplinary teams with common goals.
And now I’m getting ready for what’s next: a voyage across our largest ocean, The Pacific, in order to explore and understand how one can truly live in harmony with nature. Consider the boat a vessel that propagates by wind, navigates by stars, charges by solar energy, generates drinkable water from the sea, and floats above one of our greatest resources of food. Outfitting for a 3000+ nautical mile crossing has been a manifold of challenges that inadvertently allows the gain of appreciation for independence and sovereignty. These are the simple yet profound abilities manifested by both ancient tradition and novel technologies. Throughout the voyage I have intention to learn as much as I can from the experience of living symbiotically with my surroundings. In the future I hope to translate this concept over to a home that utilizes many of these sustainable factors for a prosperous community.
